Perth for the weekend

I've just spent four days in Perth. I flew over on Thursday to deliver a presentation to West Australian members of the Registered Consultancy Group (RCG). Local members asked me to present on the annual consultancy survey I've been managing for the last couple of years. I originally helped the PRIA set up this survey in 2001 while working as the Managing Director for Text 100 in Australia.

This is my first time in Perth since visiting for a short holiday in 1991. At the time, I was between jobs and had five days to fill before starting a role with International Data Corporation (IDC). This trip, I spent the day working on Friday after arriving in town on Thursday evening. This included a half-day seminar with RCG members, followed by time spent with a local consultancy in the upmarket neighbourhood of Subiaco.

I spent Saturday reacquainting myself with a few of Perth's local sights, including an afternoon in Fremantle, before flying back to Sydney on Sunday morning. It's encouraging to see my new role with Senate SHJ generating some interesting travel opportunities.
