Garry and I have arrived safely in New York City after an uneventful on-stop flight across the Pacific. Breakfast this morning was an egg white omelet over Chicago. Immigration at JFK was unbelievably quick and efficient. We were through the airport and into a cab in less than 45 minutes. It’s hard to believe it’s nine years since we
last visited the Big Apple for business.
We’re staying at the Langham Hotel after cashing in a chunk of Amex Rewards points we’ve been accumulating for years. At check-in the hotel kindly upgraded us to an incredibly spacious suite. The bathroom alone runs the entire length of the room.
After settling in we headed out for a quick walk past the Empire State Building and through Times Square before going for a quick bite. At Garry’s behest we wandered into Macy’s while on the way to dinner at Black Iron Burger. A burger, fries and beer for two cost us AUD115. Garry and I miss earning GBP.
